The program began in 2015 and was broken into two stages. In October, the heads and other employees of UMG met with high school students to talk with them about the future benefits and prestige of working as an engineer in the modern employment market. Then in November the students got the unique opportunity to visit and get acquainted with the production processes used in clay extraction companies. Every school in the city put up informational posters about UMG Holding and the employment opportunities in its different companies. Around 150 high school students from secondary schools No. 6, 8, 14, 17 and the Intellect Gymnasium participated in this social project. “The real goal of “Miners of the Future” is to tell high school students from Druzhkivka city schools about the opportunities and demands of engineering jobs in the modern employment market, and about how students can unlock their own potential with us at UMG. Employees from UMG’s clay extraction companies acted as both speakers and guides for their companies, as they were the most qualified to introduce students to details of the mining business,” Evgeniy Tsymarman, CEO of UMG coal extraction companies, shared. “At present, the ability for future graduates to stay in their hometown and unlock their full potential without going anywhere is pretty limited. It is therefore undoubtedly very important and interesting for students to get information about employment market details and the types of jobs that see the most demand, especially when that information is first-hand. The trip to UMG clay extraction companies was ultimately both interesting and useful,” Albina Rastvortseva, Deputy Principal of Secondary School No. 6 for Educational Work, said while speaking about her impressions on UMG’s educational project.
